In their roles at the University of Guelph, they have discovered the richness and biodiversity of the plant and animal life at the Arboretum. They will share how they have learned that biodiversity presents us with numerous surprises nature provides each and every month.

Jersey is a PhD student who is studying invasive Phragmites, specifically how to expedite native plant community recovery after Phragmites removal.

Speaker: Bonnie Sitter
Topic: "Ontario’s Farmerettes"
Bonnie found a captivating little photo in her husband’s loose photos after he died. Three girls were sitting on the running board of an old car. On the back of the photo, an intriguing caption read: Farmerettes about 1946. The more she researched, the more she enjoyed the history she was discovering. She decided that perhaps this was a story that others might like.

A Storybrook Adventure which documents the creation of a series of new gardens planted on my new property with a focus on native species. I am thrilled to have my Nephew Daniel with me tonight as he has been an integral part of this exciting adventure.
