Garden Showcase — Sunday, June 14

GARDEN SHOWCASE is an annual event that takes place this spring on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. You will enjoy this self-guided tour of outstanding Guelph gardens. This popular event is great value for money priced at $15. There will be one country property and 6 other gardens for a total of 7 gardens. Continuing this year is the opportunity for two neighbourhood “walking tours”. Guests can stroll through these neighbourhoods observing beautiful boulevard gardens along the way.

As always there is a wide variety of garden styles and an interesting diversity of plants to discover. In the mix are three large gardens, one small garden and three average city properties. Explore creative ideas in design, eco practices, vegetable growing, garden structures and art objects integrated into the landscape. Enhance your experience of the gardens with local artists displaying their artwork and local musicians playing as you wander.

Learn and satisfy your curiosity by posing questions to the Garden Owners, Garden Minders and Master Gardeners who are available to share their knowledge and expertise with you. Learn from them, talk with them and adapt these ideas into your own home garden.

REEP Rain Garden and Tree Care Presentation — Saturday, July 11

Residential areas, from lawns to boulevards, play an important role in shaping the health and resilience of our cities. Trees and rain gardens are two ways that homeowners can move beyond traditional lawns and create spaces that offer greater benefits to people and the environment, helping manage stormwater, improving soil and air quality, and providing crucial wildlife habitat. During this walk, join Reep's tree and plant experts to explore how trees and rain gardens can be integrated into your property. You'll learn about local tree canopy and identification, the benefits and challenges of growing trees in urban settings, and practical approaches to tree care. We will also tour some of the rain gardens installed through the City of Guelph's Rain Garden Rebate Program, offering inspiration and insight into rain garden design, construction and maintenance.

More details to come.
